This morning I started a new book written by Mary Jane Grant called Happier Here & Now . I love how she is teaching you the power of being in the present through the story of life. As I read the first two chapters I could feel myself becoming more and more aware of all my senses. I was reliving and living memories as she described what she felt, saw smelled, heard, and tasted. Before I knew it I had read over fifty pages and two hours had passed.

I wrote this poem on a whim the other night and was inspired by this book to rewrite it.

Let your senses bring you into the present moment. Live a life full of gratitude and joy for all the little beautiful moments of life.

If we don't cherish all the subtle beauties of life then soon life will start to feel dull and gray. Take time to feel the warmth and softness of the sheets after they come out of the dryer or listen to the birds singing when you go outside. Make snow angels in your bed after you first wake up. Dance around the living room.

It's time to immerse ourselves into this journey of life.
